A gem unbeknown to most, the Rail Mall is a celebrated supper hangout for residents close-by and those in the loop. One of the most popular establishments the nostalgic railway estate houses is Springleaf Prata, which dishes up the ultimate supper food – prata. Open till the wee hours of the morning is Blooie’s Roadhouse, which serves up some of the best cheesy, spicy, toppings-laden hotdogs in Singapore. For our vegan and vegetarian friends, we got you covered with Sunny Choice, an organic plant-based eatery that offer wholesome dishes, Hakka-style.

Home to one of the best Bak Chor Mees in town, Upper Thompson is a buzzling supper haunt frequented by late-night party-goers. After a night on the dance floor, many flock to Meng’s Kitchen for a good old Bak Chor Mee fix. The Roti Prata House is also a popular choice with its crispy and crunchy prata, a well-received departure from the usual fluffy texture. For those who crave a mean burger or steak, Fat Boy’s is open till midnight.

Aside from its shady reputation as a red light district, Geylang is a popular supper haven with some of the most comforting eats littered throughout the various Lorongs. Aside from the famed G7 Sinma Claypot, which dishes up steaming pots of fresh frog porridge, there are numerous other eateries that leaves one spoilt for choice. Parking is free after 5.30pm, with an abundance of lots at the bigger car parks as long as you are willing to walk a couple of streets to your dining destination.

Dempsey Hill offers cuisines that hail from across the globe. Close to home is our national dish – Chilli Crab, which Jumbo Seafood is well known for. Another recommended eatery would be Margarita’s, which has the Mexican experience down to a tee – from the interior to the authentic Mexican fare it dishes up. For Curry lovers, there is surely something for everyone from the bountiful selection of curries available at Muthu’s Curry.

If you’re in a big group, Joo Seng Teowchew Porridge & Rice has a vast selection of hearty Chinese dishes that taste like home, perfect for sharing. Taking the last spot on our recommended list is the new kid on the block, Time For Thai, which has made a name for itself with its authentic Thai fare that packs a punch with its spice levels.
