With attractions and restaurants in Singapore reopening in Phase 2, this is the best chance to be a tourist in your own country and rediscover Singapore!
We’ve gathered a list of places — both attractions and restaurants that you can visit during Phase 2. The best part is, they’re having ongoing promotions and good deals! Many of these places have implemented safety measures to prevent possible transmission risks and promote contact tracing. So if you’re wondering where to go this weekend, you can visit these places with a peace of mind.
Though we’re back to being out and about, we’re still living in a “new normal”. To travel in safety and convenience, we recommend renting a car so you and your loved ones can explore Singapore to your heart’s content! At ETHOZ, we offer affordable short-term car rental packages that make travelling around with families and friends much more comfortable and convenient.
1. Flower Dome at Gardens by The Bay
Reopened to the public on 11 July, visitors to Flower Dome can expect to be welcomed back by European-themed floral displays located in the main flower field. Due to COVID-19, the supply chain of flowers from international markets have been severely affected, so a majority of the plants are actually grown in-house by our horticulturists in Gardens by the Bay’s climate-controlled greenhouses!
As the Flower Dome can only allow up to 25% of the usual capacity, you can anticipate fewer crowds as you take a stroll through this beautiful space and enjoy some crisp fresh air. Snap some shots with gorgeous blooms such as sunflowers, kangaroo paw, foxgloves, and many more.
2. Bollywood Veggies
Being stuck at home during circuit breaker has had some of its own benefits–one of which is discovering new hobbies! If you’ve developed a green thumb over the past few months and are itching to find out more about how you can get your plants to thrive, Bollywood Veggies is the place to visit now that phase 2 is here.
You can opt for a private farm experience, or just roam around the area to enjoy the greenery and draw some inspiration for your very own garden at home. Along the way, stop by their bistro, Poison Ivy, to refresh, relax and feel recharged!
3. Tanjong Beach Club
That Bali vacation won’t be happening anytime soon, but that doesn’t mean you can’t soak up some sun and enjoy those sandy beaches right here in Singapore. Famous amongst locals for their delicious dishes and chill ambience, Tanjong Beach Club is the perfect place to head to with your friends for some much-needed catching up over food and drinks.
Before COVID-19 hit, Tanjong Beach Club was already known to have their tables and daybeds fill up in an instant, so if you’re planning to head down with your friends, don’t forget to make a booking in advance–trust us, you’ll need it!
4. Goodman Ceramic Studio
Goodman Ceramic Studio is Singapore’s largest ceramic centre that offers an array of classes from wheel throwing to hand building. The act of working with clay has known to be very therapeutic and rewarding, so we’re thrilled that studios like these have opened back up in Phase 2.
If you’re new to the whole ceramics scene, you can sign up for trial lessons to get acquainted with basic moulding and shaping methods. But if you’re ready to dive in and get working, they also offer packages that will allow you to create beautiful pieces that you can actually take home with you.
5. S.E.A Aquarium
The S.E.A Aquarium is the perfect place to visit with your friends and family this weekend, especially since they’re offering 1-for-1 admission tickets every weekend at S.E.A Aquarium for the month of August!
Home to over 1,000 species of marine animals, you can expect to be enchanted by mesmerizing jellyfish, or be blown away by massive manta rays. It’s a place for people of all ages to enjoy, making it especially great for a family excursion. With safety measures in place, do remember to make advance bookings before your visit!
